SILVERSMITHING CLASSES
JEWELLERY MAKING 2
Jewellery Making 2 is a continuation of Jewellery Making 1 and is designed for students who want to further develop their skills and confidence working with metal. This class builds on basic techniques while introducing more detailed processes and design considerations.
Students will continue working with sterling silver and may also use brass and copper. Techniques covered include improved soldering, more precise piercing and filing, forming and shaping thicker gauge metal, surface texturing, and introductory stone setting. Emphasis is placed on craftsmanship, problem-solving, and developing clean, well-finished jewellery pieces.
Students will learn proper equipment use, studio safety protocols, and effective workflow at the bench. Individual guidance is provided, allowing students to work at their own pace while expanding their technical skills.
Equipment and consumable materials included.
Cost of silver extra: $30–$60 per project depending on design and weight.
A list of supplies and techniques will be provided before attending the first class.
